I have completed the early literacy screening assessment that is now required by California law (Education Code Section 53008), This screener is not a diagnostic tool. It just helps us identify students that may need more support. The result will be going home in your child’s homework folder, along with a letter from the district with additional information and resources.

​My students filled their “Star Jar.” We will celebrate this milestone on Tuesday. The class has decided they would like to watch a movie in the afternoon, along with popcorn and lemonade. I also agreed that they could bring a stuffed animal to sit with them to watch the movie. Please only send in stuffed animals that fit in backpacks.

We have the 100th Day Of School coming, on February 4th. This is one of my favorite days of the year. I am encouraging students to dress up like they are 100 years old that day. We will also be doing 100s Day centers in the afternoon. Finally, I will also be sending home their Mystery Bottle Project, which is due on Monday, February 2nd.
